David Wraight Cottages builds weatherboard
homes using Weathertex Weatherboards. Its homes are either
smaller cottages, villas or homesteads. David Wraight Cottages
has developed its homes using this weatherboard and integrated
it with corner facings, window facings, baseboards and an
extensive use of verandas and decks. Most of its homes also have
a 2.7m stud.
While David Wraight Cottages has various
plans from houses it has already designed and built, its
speciality is to sit down with the customer and design a house
especially for them within the cottage/villa style.
David Wraight Cottages concentrates heavily
on getting the exterior look of the house in terms of the lines
of yesterday and then move onto the interior floor plan.
David Wraight Cottages try to work on an
efficient floor plan to avoid wasted space, e.g., if a 200 sq/m
home is as roomy as a 220-240 sq/m home it helps in terms of
cost, especially when you are using a lot of extra features,
like verandas.
David Wraight Cottages has found in the past
that by using a 2.7m stud and a smart floor plan a home can meet
all expectations for space. There are many options available
that can add extra features to a character home, e.g., window
seats, vaulted ceilings, lean-tos, walk-in linen and pantry, or
a scullery - the list can be endless when dealing with these
houses. |
